A Non-Governmental Organisation, Women Arise has appealed to the Federal Government to ensure they rescue all of the remaining Chibok girls abducted from their school by Boko Haram exactly six years ago.

President, Women Arise, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin made the appeal in a statement to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the abduction of hundreds of school girls by Boko Haram.
Community Bell reports that Boko Haram militant attacked a government secondary boarding school in Chibok, Borno on April 14, 2014, kidnapping 276 female students.
The abduction sparked one of the biggest global social media campaigns, with tweeters using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
The Women Arise president said that although Coronavirus might have captured the world attention, the girls were forever in their heart.
She said: “Six years down the road we are not relenting. How time flies! Today is six years that the Chibok Girls were carted away by Boko Haram.
“The passion and velocity of our campaign remain untainted, undiluted and undiminished.”
The NGO president said that the government must never think they would let go of the pressure until all the girls were rescued from their captivity.
According to her, there is no relenting until each and every one of the girls are rescued from captivity.
Recall that some of the girls managed to escape shortly after they were seized, while about 100 have been freed in exchange for Boko Haram militants in negotiations brokered by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
