PDP exists only on paper, social media, says Lagos APC spokesman

Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party in disarray, saying the opposition party only exist on paper and social media.

Speaking to  journalists few days ago, Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Seye Oladejo, said PDP doesn’t look like a party that can give APC a run for their money during any election in the nearest future.

He said the defection of large numbers of PDP chieftains and members to APC before and after the 2019 general elections showed clearly that PDP is in disarray and the leadership of the party is not cohesive.

In his words, “We have a party here that claims to be a national party that has finally been in opposition in Lagos State. There is nothing to celebrate; the party is in disarray, the leadership is not cohesive. They cannot bring the members together; they cannot motivate and inspire people toward continuing to be members of that party. “And here we have APC that enjoys widespread acceptance and state government is performing in leaps and bounds, so naturally that will attract more people into the party. We will continue to encourage people to come to the APC squad.

“Without being immodest, I am sure that whatever remains of the leadership of PDP in PDP, they know that the reality is that the party exists only on paper and maybe on social media.

So you just find them once in a while issuing statements to serve as a reminder to the public that the party is still on life support so to say.

Speaking on  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, Hon. Oladejo said the governor is focused on delivering dividends of democracy to Lagosians. “Our governor is not known for propaganda and stuff like that and I want to see him as someone who will want those projects to speak for him. You will find out that unlike in the past six months when we have people raising dust about the condition of the road, environment and the rest of it; that agitation has really gone down.

“Let me also emphasise that the governor has remained focus on governance; he is not distracted by politics of forming political groups, witch-hunting whoever, which largely always brings distraction to the governance of the state and would also negatively influence the choice of products and execution of those products,” he said.
