A Community-based organization, Jakande Estate Online in the Oke-Afa area of Lagos, will on Saturday, December 19, 2020, hold the third edition of the Accolades Award where various awards will be given to people, groups, and businesses in the Oshodi- Isolo Local Government Area.

Its convener, Mr. Oluwagbenga Owoyele told Community Bell in a telephone interview that the vision of the Accolades Group is to “annually showcase and celebrate persons and entrepreneurs who had excelled in their own chosen fields.’’ He said that the awards also aim at motivating the awardees to do more for their community and to challenge others to see the need to contribute their quotas to the development of communities in Lagos.
“This edition tagged COVID-19 edition will specifically celebrate health workers in the community, as well as businesses and groups who supported the people during the lockdown.
The group said that the recipients would be rewarded for their sterling contributions to the growth and development of their community adding that the mission was to celebrate success and encourage better performance by residents from all walks of life. The convener added that the first edition recognized the contributions of pioneer residents and organizations who made the estate great from 1985 to the Year 2000.
The second edition celebrated those who impacted the community positively in 2019. He said that their contributions had brought positive developments to the estate in the areas of human capital development, provision of social amenities, and other civic responsibilities.
The keynote speaker at the event would be the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Honourable Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello.
