Igando-Ikotun LCDA distributes free sanitary pads to female students on coronavirus

The Chairman, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Hon. Morenike Williams has distributed 1000 sanitary pads to female students in the council area as part of efforts to sensitise them on the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Council Boss, the sensitisation programme became necessary following the spread of the epidemic around the globe.

This was contained in a statement signed by her Media Officer, Abayomi Oseni.

The Chairman distributed 1,000 sanitary pads to female students of two public secondary schools in Ikotun Grammar School and Igando High School in the area, tasking them on maintaining good menstrual hygiene.

She said that it is important to improve on girl child menstrual hygiene through sanitary pad, which is why the free provision of it to secondary school girls.

Morenike said that it was aimed at ensuring that people especially, student live up to their responsibilities in preventing coronavirus diseases outbreaks in their areas.

She noted that the Campaign is going on simultaneously in all the communities, markets, and other flashpoints in the council area.

“The distribution of pads and the sensitisation exercise was important to guarantee the psychological, emotional and physical well-being of female students. in the council area.

“The targeted beneficiaries are the less-privileged female students in public schools, who cannot afford sanitary pads,” she said.
