Throwing his weight behind the embattled chairman, Tinubu said Oshiomhole has not done anything to deserve removal.

He admitted that like all humans, the party chairman has both his good and bad sides but insisted it was not enough to remove him from office.

Tinubu, in a press statement said, “The Chairman has been a tireless campaigner and mobiliser for the party; he has steered the party through difficult elections and his contributions should not be undervalued now that the bulk of elections are behind us. To do so would be an act of ingratitude.”

The former Lagos State governor pointed out that “it is no secret that Oshiomhole and Edo Governor, Obaseki are in dispute,” describing it as unfortunate. However, he added that he was looking forward to the resolution of all issues, affecting the party through laid down mechanism.

Tinubu frowned at self-help tactics of some parties to the feud, which he said spoke volumes about those plotting against Oshiomhole.

“All party members know that such decisions are part and parcel of internal party governance, yet they shunned the agreed party reconciliation mechanism and resorted to other means to oust him,” he added.
