South-South leaders commend Lagos State Governor for supplying palliatives to its members

The South-South United People’s forum under the leadership of Otunba Emiyede and its apex leader, Dr Mordi in collaboration with the Lagos State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Sam Egube have commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving the distribution of Covid-19 palliative packs to members of South-South United People’s forum across the 20 Local Government Areas and the 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.

In a statement signed by the Forum’s Secretary, Hon Dr Paul Omatseye Fregene, Emiyede lauded the gesture as a historic and a morale booster to the South-South region. Dr Mordi appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Sam Egube for being a worthy ambassador of the region.

The Honourable Commissioner committed the distribution exercise to the following people: Mr Tunde Ekpekurede (Special Assistant), Deacon Dr Paul Fregene, Chief Napoleon, Chief Lucky and Hon. Fausat Olajoku.

Team A, comprising Chief Lucky and Deacon Dr Paul Fregene covered the East and Central Senatorial district while Team B, which comprises Chief Napoleon and Hon. Olajoku covered all the LGAs/LCDAs in the Lagos West Senatorial District.

“On behalf of the members of the South-South people in Lagos State, we are immensely grateful to the Governor for his magnanimity and gesture. We equally seize this opportunity to admonish our members to continue to be law-abiding and adhere to the advocacy of regular washing of hands, use of hand sanitiser and observing social distancing.”
