Osimhen, who stated his desire to move to England, however, insists his immediate focus is on playing regular football for French Ligue 1 club Lille.

Osimhen has starred for the French side this season following his move from Belgium club RSC Charleroi in July last year.

The 21-year-old, who has rapidly emerged as one of Africa’s brightest stars over the last few months, has scored 18 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions this season. Osimhen’s rise has not gone unnoticed and clubs from across Europe’s top divisions are keeping a close eye on the Super Eagles forward.

“Of course, one day I’d like to play for a big club in England,” Osimhen said.

“I’ve spoken to Odion [Ighalo] about it. He gave me very good advice; he’s a legend and a big brother. My goal is to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world but now I’m very happy in Lille. My priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me.”

Clubs in England, Spain and Italy are reportedly keeping tabs on Osimhen with AC Milan the latest club said to have joined the race for the talented marksman.
