MC Oluomo loses mother … burial holds today

Alhaja Abebi Zinat Omotonwo, the mother of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW), Lagos State, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, is dead.

She died peacefully at her residence in the early hours of today, Thursday, April 30.

In a statement announcing his mother’s death this morning, Akinsanya said the remains of the deceased will be buried today in accordance with Islamic rites and in compliance with the social distancing order of the Lagos State government.

The statement reads in part: “The members of the family, however, appreciate everyone that has been calling to condole with the family since the news broke out.

“We appreciate their concern and use this avenue to inform them that the burial will be attended strictly by family members only.

“We appreciate and understand that there are so many people who would have loved to pay their last respect to our late Mother, Alhaja Abebi Zinat Omotonwo but will be unable to do so due to the present ban on large gatherings.

“Please phone call or text messages will be appreciated. Thanks for your understanding and Cooperation. May Allah accepts her soul.”
