LGA chairman urges stakeholders engagement in budget implementation

The Chairman of Somolu Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulhamed Salawu has stressed the need to engage stakeholders in budget implementation.

Speaking during a Stakeholders Consultative Forum for the Year 2020 Budget Preparation, Salawu said that participatory budgeting programmes depend on the effective engagement of stakeholders to remove capacity gaps, which can hamper successful execution.
The council boss explained that the forum was to seek relevant and useful opinion of the general public towards social and infrastructural development for sustainability and peaceful co-existence.

Salawu while reaffirming the State Government Policy thrust on the T.H.E.M.E Agenda, said that his administration had set the pace for other councils on infrastructural development, education, health, social welfare as well as environment.

He also disclosed that plans had been concluded to build a befitting secretariat, adding that he is open to input and suggestions aimed at developing the local government.
