‘I waited for 45 minutes after stabbing her to ensure she was dead’ – murder suspect

A murder suspect, Daniel Chukwudiebele Okocha currently cooling off at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba Panti for allegedly stabbing his ‘baby mama’ to death has revealed that he watched her die forty five minutes after stabbing her.

Okocha, who absconded after committing the crime told the police, “I killed my girlfriend, Nkechi because I suspected she was cheating on me”.

Recounting the issues that led to the unfortunate incident, Okocha said on that fateful day, Nkechi wanted to dress up for church but I insisted she would not go because I suspected she was going to see another man who attended the same church as her. We began to quarrel when she refused to obey me. The quarrel degenerated into a fight and I stabbed her several times”.

Explaining further he said, ‘‘I gave her life, but she refused to give me back”.

Okocha and his baby Mama, Nkechi Vivian Agwor, it was gathered are both indigenes of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South local government of Delta State but were live in lovers, cohabiting in the suspects’ apartment in Egbeda area of Lagos before the tragic incident.

According to the police, Okocha who fled after the crime was sniffed out of his hideout by the police and he revealed that what prompted him to commit the wicked act was because he suspected Nkechi was cheating on him.

A relative of the deceased, who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity noted that, the suspect Okocha was so possessive and jealous. There was even a time he attempted to commit suicide by drinking a poisonous substance, Snipper. It was Nkechi that rushed him to the hospital where he was revived. Now he has killed her out of jealousy. “

Their only child is now with Nkechi’s mother.”

Confirming the arrest, spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana said investigation was ongoing.
