According to Ojo who was arrested alongside his gang members, Olatunbosun Oladimeji, Thompson Lawrence, Ola Adegbite, Sunday Oloye and Dare Dedeigbo at Akure in Ondo State, the very night I was arrested I just finished holding meeting with my gang members and we were planning to go for another operation.

Ojo said “I am an armed robber, I rob people, houses with my gang and also steal vehicles from the pack, and I have stolen nine cars and sold it to a dealer.”

“I have been to prison three times and have spent forty years of my life in prison. The first time, I spent four years for stealing at the Olokuta prison in Akure. While in the prison I mingled with other convicted robbers who introduced me to other robbers outside the prison. So after leaving the prison, I joined a robbery gang and started robbing innocent people again. I was arrested the second time for same robbery and was in prison for twelve years. After I was released because I didn’t learn a trade and couldn’t do any other work, I went back to armed robbery. Later I was later arrested, and charge to court, the third time and sentenced him to ten years imprisonment”.

“When I was released, I formed another gang and I sorted for protection against arrest that was why I did the disappearing powers called afęęri in Yoruba through my herbalist who is now late. This afęęri enable me to be invisible whenever I go for robbery and police are after me. I have disappeared twice in the hands of some officers which led to their dismissal.
