I feel fulfilled, happier after returning to Islam from Christianity-Adunni Ade

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade recently revealed her religion to her fans and followers – the actress disclosed that she once converted to Christianity but has returned to practising Islam.

Adunni Ade recently took her fans and followers on social media by surprise after coming out to talk about a part of her life that she hardly talks about. The actress noted that for long she has avoided approaching the topic of religion because it is a very sensitive subject for her. She added that it is only those that are extremely close to her that know the religion she practices.

She categorically stated that she is a practising Muslim. Adunni disclosed that she was born into a Muslim family and was raised as one.

“So for the curious ones who have been asking, yes, I am a Muslim. Born into a Muslim home and was raised as one. I have a loving Muslim father, who has given his children the free will to choose any religion they like, be it Christianity or Islam. My mom is a Christian, though not a practising one. My Stepmom is a Christian, My stepsisters are Christians, my stepbrothers are Muslims,” the actress wrote.

Speaking further, Adunni disclosed that at some point in her life she converted into Christianity and worshipped with MFM, RCCG, CLAM, CAC, among other Christian institutions. She, however, noted that while all this was going on, Islam never left her. Adunni said for some years she was worried about what people will say if she returned to practising Islam. However, in December 2016, she returned to Islam and started practising again.

On her mode of appearance, the actress made it clear that she is free to dress however she likes because  Islam judges by the intentions of believers. She added that the revelation is not to seek validation, but for people to learn how to live their lives without being worried about what others think. On a final note, the actress called on Muslims to make the best use of the holy month of Ramadan.
