Health Officials Sensitise Ifoshi Residents On Cholera Outbreak

In order to guard against the outbreak of Cholera, some officials of the Primary Health Board (PHB) sensitised residents of Ifoshi Ward of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area. Speaking at a stakeholder meeting organised by the lawmaker representing Ifoshi in Ejigbo LCDA,  Hon. Grace Okere and a PHB official, Samuel Orileke urged residents to keep their environments clean as this is one of the potent ways of getting rid of cholera outbreak. “We all know that cholera thrives in dirty environments hence it is very important that we keep our environments clean. We should also be mindful of what we eat and constantly wash our hands with clean water and soap,” he said. Orileke advised that patients should be taken to health facility once there is a sign of this disease. “The moment some of the symptoms of cholera kicks in, such as stooling and vomiting at regular intervals, as parents and guardians we should go to the nearest health centres,’’ he said.
