Corps members to receive April, May allowance without clearance – NYSC

Following the instruction of avoiding social distancing due to the raging coronavirus, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that payment of monthly stipend also known as allawee to serving corps members for the month of April and May, shall be made without the usual gathering for clearance.

In a statement by the scheme’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi stated that the usual clearance for payment will not be required for the month of May 2020 noting that the system will generate automatic clearance for all corps members.

Adeyemi said this was to refute a false report making the rounds that the Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim had in a statement directed Corps Members to contribute their monthly stipends for April and May to the fight against COVID-19.

She also noted that the management appreciates the contributions of Corps Members across the country in the fight against the pandemic, as well as Corps Medical Personnel working with medical teams across the country and Corps Engineers that designed pedal-operated machine dispensing sanitizer.
