Coronavirus: Lagos State calls for safety measures in market places

The Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission Lanre Mojola has recommended precautionary measures to guard against the spread of Coronavirus and other airborne diseases in market places.

The Punch reports that he made this known during his visit to Kairo Market, Oshodi over the weekend. Noting that market sanitation is a critical factor in protecting the health of residents, he suggested some preventive measures like regular hand washing especially after using the toilet, sneezing and coughing and also before and after eating. He also advised the market people to take in a lot of fruits to boost immunity against the virus.

Mojola advised the traders to maintain a distance from people sneezing or coughing and employ the use of hand sanitisers often. He added that people with any of the symptoms should desist from self-medication and report to government officials for free medical checks and treatment.
