Breaking: Buhari Appoints Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari Chief Of Staff

President Muhammadu Buhari has today, Tuesday, May 12th 2020 appointed Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari his new Chief of Staff.

Born on November 24, 1944, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Professor Gambari is a Nigerian scholar and diplomat and Nigeria’s  Minister for External Affairs between 1984 and 1985.

Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari replaces the President’s former Chief of Staff, late Mallam Abba Kyari who died April from complications of the Covid-19.

Professor Ibrahim Gambari has worked with President Buhari as a Foreign Minister and confidant as military Head of State in the 1980s.

Gambari served as Minister of External Affairs between 1984 and 1985. He was later appointed by former United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, Envoy and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission as Joint African Union-United Nations Special Representative for Darfur in 2010.

Prof. Ibrahim was also the Special Adviser on the International Compact with Iraq and Other Issues for the UN Secretary-General.

Prof. Ibrahim Gambari will resume office at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday 13th Of May.
