7 drivers, 95 interstate travellers arrested… 7 commercial buses impounded in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested seven commercial bus drivers and 95 interstate travellers in Lagos.

The suspects were arrested at Bhojson area, Ebute Metta of Lagos State on the 21st of April following intelligence reports received by police officers from Denton Police Station.

The drivers and passengers were charged to Mobile Court and sentenced accordingly.

Meanwhile, the seven commercial buses with registration numbers LG 91 BGT, Lagos to Benue; BDA 690 XA, Lagos to Abuja; BGA 86 EA, Lagos to Abuja; LSD 459 XA, Lagos to Benue; LRN 105 YR, Lagos to Ilorin; LSD 81 XX, Lagos to Ilorin and BWR 975 PN, Lagos to Abuja were impounded.

Similarly, ten other persons were arrested on April 23, 2020, by operatives from Maroko Police Station for organising a party at Lekki Garden.

Confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State DSP Bala Elkana said, “the suspects were arraigned in Court on a three-count charge and found guilty as charged. They were sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and community service, to run concurrently”.
